Anxiously Awaiting The Tooth Fairy

There was much excitement this evening as my 5 year old daughter lost her first baby tooth! She had gone to the store with her Dad and little brother. When they returned home, she came running in and announced that she had lost her tooth "right next to the bananas". She is so excited about the tooth fairy coming tonight. She really wants to wait up to see what she looks like. I told her that the fairy doesn't leave a prize if she is seen. Hopefully this will serve as incentive to fall asleep ASAP!

We found my old tooth fairy pillow and tucked her tooth gently into the little pocket. I bet the tooth fairy will be impressed that I kept it all these years. I'm so glad that my pack rat ways have paid off. It is fun to have her use some of my childhood items. It makes these precious moments even more special!

Kindergarten Graduation / Field Day

Nothing says last day of school and Happy Graduation like a plate full of delicious cupcakes!

Well, she did it! She successfully completed Kindergarten! I can't believe she is going to be old enough to go to 1st grade. Where do the years go?

She just received her Kindergarten diploma and Bible

Mother's Day / The Boy's Official Puppy B-day Party

On Mother's Day we had family come to our house to celebrate Mother's Day and our son's 2nd birthday. It was a fun time. As you can see, we had a puppy theme or "buppy" theme as he would say. "Buppies" are his favorite animal at this time so we had a" buppy" party.
The last picture is one of the gifts from his grandmother. She wrapped and decorated the present to look like a dog house. Very cute! She always knows how to add a special touch!

My Happy Birthday

I'm running a little behind on my posts but I wanted to thank my Mother for making my birthday very special this year. She fixed me a delicious birthday dinner which consisted of crawfish etouffe, asparagus, and artichokes. It was delicious!!! She also got a Baskin Robbins icecream cake for dessert. It was the chocolate cake / mint chocolate chip combination that is just SO GOOD! We all enjoyed a lovely evening.

Dancing Princess

She doesn't understand why she has to learn her dance teacher's dance routines. They are nothing like the beautiful dances that the dancing princesses do on her Barbie DVD. She has become disillusioned with her dance class. She wants to "take a break". Mom had to break the news to her that she is finishing up the last few weeks because recitial fees and costume fees have already been paid. Oh and of course, we are NOT quitters! If she would like to try something new after her recital, then I will completely support her in this. I'm curious, how long do most of you require that you children stick to something once they have started. My daughter has been in dance for about a year and a half, so I think it is fine for her to try something new at this point. Thoughts?

May Day

Happy May Day! I've been reading a few blogs and realized it was May Day. On several of the blogs, they talked about gifting people with flowers today. This is something I was not familiar with but I really like it. Now, this has me wondering am I the only one who was unaware of this neat tradition. Is this "celebrated" more in certain areas of the country or am I just living under a rock? I am a Southern girl and I would love another occasion to receive flowers and to bless someone else with them as well. Please share your thoughts!
