Happy 2nd Birthday Sweet Boy!

Happy Birthday to my sweet little boy who is turning 2 years old today. You have brought us so much joy. We love you more than you will ever know!!! Here are a few pics from his birthday dinner. He will be having a family party in a few weeks with a "puppy" theme since "puppy" is one of his favorite words right now and he gets very excited anytime he sees a puppy dog! For tonight, we had cookie monster cupcakes. He loved them! I have to give credit to Chief Family Officer for the inspiration for these cupcakes and the directions.

He opened a few presents with the help of his sister. As you can see in the last picture, some of the help was not so appreciated! What are big sisters for? Annoying their little brothers of course!

I found this today and thought it was great. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Grayson!

Happy 1st Birthday to my sweet, energetic, handsome nephew! The past year has flown by. I can't believe how much you have grown. We love you very much and are looking forward to celebrating your birthday on Saturday.

Things That Don't Happen Everyday!

I just received a phone call letting me know that my street would be closed at some point this afternoon due to the fact that the President of the United States would be attending a fund raiser at a private residence on this street. No Way!!!!! Feel free to drop on by Mr. President. Just give me a little notice so that I can hose down the house for you. And by the way, my dear daughter has dance lessons this evening so if you could possibly have the street opened by 6ish, I'd so appreciate it. Dance recital is coming up soon - she needs the practice!!! Thanks and your welcome on this street anytime!!!
Love,
Me

Easter Bunny Picture ( better late than never)

Road Trip

This past weekend hubs and I took the kiddos on a road trip to a wedding about 4 1/2 hours away. I have to admit I was dreading this long of a ride with a 5 year old and a 1 year old. I was tempted to go out and buy a portable DVD player for the kids and a set of earplugs for myself. However, I resisted temptation and we made it the old fashion way. They were actually very good. The 1 year old ( almost 2-year old) likes his freedom and really hates to be in the car seat! He slept very little but for the most part he kept the squeeling and screaming to a minimum. We made several stops along the way to eat and see the sights. We got a good look at the mighty Mississippi River in its flooded state. It was really neat to see. The pictures don't do it justice.
The wedding was in the back yard of the bride's parents home. It was fun because it was a pretty casual atmosphere which made it not so stressful with the kids. There were several children there and the hosts thought of everything. They had a kids table that was covered with paper so that the kids could draw. They had games and little party favors all over the table that the kids could take home with them. They had chicken tenders and a variety of junk food that the kids loved. They hired teenage girls to help keep an eye on them while the parents sat down and ate at beautifully decorated tables. It was an evening wedding and the lighting was beautiful. They had candles on all the tables and lanterns hanging from beautiful trees.

After the wedding we went back to our hotel and the kids swam in an indoor pool which was really the highlight of their trip. All in all, a good time was had by all.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday started out with an Easter egg hunt before church. The Easter bunny hid eggs at our house even though we were going over to Nana and Grandfather's house for lunch and an official Easter egg hunt. Only big sister participated in the pre-church hunt in hopes of little brother getting plenty of sleep so that he would be a good boy at church. Sister didn't mind finding the eggs by herself. Mom and Dad were helping her along since it was quite chilly!

After we finished our egg hunt, we woke little brother up to see what the Easter bunny had brought. This is what we found.

Big sister was thrilled! Little brother was still half asleep. I think I might have heard "Bunny who?". Please don't take it the wrong way Easter bunny. He's still very young. He'll be more excited next year (maybe)!

Strawberry Picking

Every Spring, we head on down to the Strawberry Farm to pick our own strawberries. The weather was beautiful and the kids had a ball. DD did a terrific job picking out just the right strawberries. DS enjoyed picking rotten strawberries off the ground and wiping strawberry juice all over his brand new outfit! C'est la vie!!!

At this particular farm, they have some small animals for the kids to get a good look at. They both were drawn to the cute little bunnies. They also enjoyed playing on the playground until Mom and Dad decided it was time to go. What party poopers they are!!! We look forward to continuing this tradition every year.

Hello Blog World

Hello out there! I have been meaning to get started on this blog for a while but life just keeps getting in the way. C'est la vie!!! I'm not complaining. I have a busy, hectic life at the moment but I love every minute of it. I am a wife of 8 years to a wonderful, Christian man and I'm a mom to two fabulous kids. I have a 5 (almost 6) year old daughter and a 23 month old son. This blog will basically be about the moments in our life that seem to be speeding by. I don't want to forget a single one! Feel free to say "hi" if you stop by and offer me some new blog encouragement. Bye for now!
